The peanut spent half her evening determined to go "potty".... she probably would have actually gone if we hadn't eventually dragged her from the bathroom for bedtime. PS: Someone needs to get peanut a brush or maybe a hair cut.

Yesterday, we spent a lot of time outside... JP practiced his baseball swing, the Peanut played soccer, we kicked off what Dan calls "hammock season" and we savored every minute of the sunshine. And then today we woke up to snow. Snow the week before Easter. How is the peanut expected to wear her adorable Easter dress if there is still snow outside? Like a champ, I tell you, a true champ will push through and risk the frost bite for fashion. We must teach these important lessons early.
This photo of Audrey hiking in the woods reminds me of a conversation Jackson and I had a few weeks ago:
Me: Jackson, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Jackson: Well, what I really want to be is a person.
Me: Oh, well that makes sense. What do you think Audrey will be when she grows up?
Jackson: I think Audrey will cut down trees. And sometimes I will help her.
The peanut: a lumberjack... nice.
The rest of our weekend included a lot of planning, organizing, church, brunch and coloring eggs for Easter... followed by, obviously, practice Easter egg hunts. After the 3rd round of egg-hunting I masterfully convinced Jackson that it would be just as much fun if he hid the eggs AND found the eggs.
After glancing back to Easter last year, I realized that dying easter eggs without pants on seems to be JP's idea of a good time. (photos HERE).

twentyNINE.
I turned 29 yesterday. That's T minus one year until the big 3-0 if you're keeping score. The inevitable cake-overload had Jackson counting down the days to my birthday and the day over-delivered with cupcakes from Nanna and a cake Dan brought home that was decorated with "Happy Birthday, Mom." I'm not sure why we both found that so funny, but agreed it made me sound officially old. I kindly suggested addressing any future cakes to "Jessica."
I'm thinking of yesterday as my birthday appetizer with the main course coming tomorrow when I am taking a personal day and fulling it to the brim with all things wonderful, including checking 2 items off my 30:30.

a peanut-style tantrum.
do NOT try to change the peanut's diaper. ever. unless you want to spend at least 20 minutes coaxing her out from under the bed.

life lately.
life lately has had its ups- planning for the mission trip to Ecuador, increasing running mileage, fun adventures with the babies, dreaming & planning with Dan.
and life lately has had its downs- stomach flu all around for this little family of ours, snow when we were hoping it was almost spring & the most stressful season of work for me yet.
but that's life, right? and we're blessed enough to have good times that far, far outweigh the not so good ones.
