(hollllly moly, I'm behind) catching up: EASTER

Well, it's pretty clear that things have been a little crazy around here seeing as I'm just now getting to our Easter update. I will say that this year Easter was somewhat of a blur since Grandma Nanny passed away that week making celebrations bittersweet to say the least. Thankfully it did mean that the Hoffman family was able to 100% be together since everyone was in town for the funeral which was a blessing for all of us and I'm certain had her smiling too.

All of Grandma Nanny's great grandbabies with the Easter baskets she had packed and ready to go for them. She made up these exact baskets for all of us from the time we were born so to pass these out for the very last time was surreal.

Audrey & Wyatt were over the pictures.

These two- two peas in a (very dramatic) pod. Grandma Nanny knew them well, leaving Elsa & Anna outfits.

All of Grandma Nanny's favorite people on the family farm.

a hoppy easter with friends.

Today we had some friends over for a little Easter play date... and I remembered to take exactly zero pictures once they came! But, here are a few from before they arrived. The monsters all had a great time and successfully achieved sugar highs followed by a lot of crazy play and some meltdowns... all the joys of being a toddler.

{catching up} EASTER!

I uncharacteristically failed at capturing Easter in photos this year. I have zero from the Easter dinner we hosted at our house with Dan's family, none from Church and very few from Easter at my parent's house so you will just need to trust me when I say that Audrey's Easter dress was extra adorable and she chose the necklace herself- good girl, Peanut, good girl.

a hoppy little easter.

This morning I woke up to these two peeps-loving babies who spent the day doing all things Easter. And now tonight I am going to sleep in Manhattan, writing this from my hotel bed, missing these little faces so much while they are most certainly fast asleep in sugar-induced comas...

Yesterday, we spent a lot of time outside... JP practiced his baseball swing, the Peanut played soccer, we kicked off what Dan calls "hammock season" and we savored every minute of the sunshine. And then today we woke up to snow. Snow the week before Easter. How is the peanut expected to wear her adorable Easter dress if there is still snow outside? Like a champ, I tell you, a true champ will push through and risk the frost bite for fashion. We must teach these important lessons early.

This photo of Audrey hiking in the woods reminds me of a conversation Jackson and I had a few weeks ago:
Me: Jackson, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Jackson: Well, what I really want to be is a person.
Me: Oh, well that makes sense. What do you think Audrey will be when she grows up?
Jackson: I think Audrey will cut down trees. And sometimes I will help her.
The peanut: a lumberjack... nice.

The rest of our weekend included a lot of planning, organizing, church, brunch and coloring eggs for Easter... followed by, obviously, practice Easter egg hunts. After the 3rd round of egg-hunting I masterfully convinced Jackson that it would be just as much fun if he hid the eggs AND found the eggs.

After glancing back to Easter last year, I realized that dying easter eggs without pants on seems to be JP's idea of a good time. (photos HERE).
